As a family business spanning four generations, we strive to make our policies and practices as beneficial and simple as possible.  We work with each customer on an individual basis and promise to always do what's right in every circumstance.  Below we cover the details of our company policies and hope you find them not only clear and understandable, but also helpful and valuable.  

 

10-DAY TRIAL: (excludes in-store purchases) Can’t get to our store to try out your next accordion? Don't worry, we have you covered. Our 10-day trial allows you to purchase a new petosa, Giulietti, Americana or Certified Pre-owned accordion and try it in the comfort of your own home for 10 days. Love it? Keep it. Don’t love it? Send it back for a refund and only pay shipping*. Trial applies to new in-stock petosa, Giulietti, Americana & Certified Pre-owned accordions (excludes Hohner accordions, in-store purchases, special or custom orders and electronic products). Customer is responsible for paying all shipping charges to and from petosa on returned items. Electronic payment fees are not refundable and will be deducted from the refund upon return. Items must be returned in new condition, without any wear from use. 

CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED EXCHANGE GUARANTEE: We welcome you to trade-up for an instrument of equal or greater value and receive 100% of the accordion’s original purchase value within 6 months of purchase date. We extend the trade-up guarantee to 1 year when trading up to a new petosa model of equal or greater value.  The 6-month trade-up guarantee is a single-use offer and applicable shipping/bank fees may be deducted from the allowance. Exchanges must be returned in relatively the same condition without any excessive use or wear. After the exchange period expires, depreciation will be applied to the trade-in and value will be appraised upon inspection.

AMERICANA -  p e t o s a  EXCHANGE GUARANTEE: Americana (by petosa) includes a trade-back promise that guarantees 100% of the original accordion price to be applied to a new petosa within one year.  Value excludes any payment fees, shipping and excess wear to be determined upon inspection. 

TRADE-INS: Didn’t purchase your accordion from us? No problem. We can appraise the value of your current accordion(s) for trade upon inspection. We welcome you to visit our Lynnwood location for appraisal: we advise to call ahead to ensure a technician is available. Out of state? Ship your accordion to us for a verbal appraisal (see Returns below for shipping instructions).

SERVICE & APPRAISALS: With over 160 years of combined experience, nobody can manage your service needs like petosa. We offer appraisals upon inspection starting at $30. Service appraisals are approximate and are subject to change – the customer will be notified of any changes or additional, unforeseen costs prior to resuming work if applicable. Estimated completion dates are subject to change due to material shortages, unforeseen issues upon disassembly, holidays, etc. We do our best to notify customers if delays occur, please feel free to call and check in on your repair if important dates are needing to be met. No appraisals or evaluations can be provided without inspection by a petosa technician.

LAYAWAY PROGRAM: Enjoy the convenience of no interest layaway payments for up to 12 months. Layaway payments and purchases are non-refundable but remain as useable credit towards accordions. Minimum down and monthly payments required – please inquire.

FINANCING: We offer financing options ranging from 0% interest for 6 months – same as cash) to extended plans with varying interest rates through Synchrony Financial. Contact us directly 206 632 2700 so we can tailor a plan to meet your financial needs.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: As a company that ships accordions and accessories worldwide, we understand that every country applies its own import customs and tariff costs depending on the product.  It is therefore the sole responsibility of the consignee for all applicable import brokerage, duty and taxes. It is recommended that this information is obtained from your local government agency in order to understand potential import costs (not included in purchase price).

THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE PURCHASES: At petosa, we take the utmost pride in our service and have policies in place that allow us to work on a case-by-case basis with our customers.  When purchasing an item we offer from a third party website, we must honor that website’s policies. If you have any issues dealing with a third party site regarding any of our products, please feel free to contact us directly to discuss how we may be able to help you.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES: Return or exchange an order by courier (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.) within 15 days of receipt. Applies to most products except accordions (see 10-Day Trial and Exchange Guarantee above).

Contact us by phone or email to obtain Return Authorization confirmation.  Upon receipt of RA, return the item including your original invoice with the package.  We recommend insuring valuable items and choose a service with tracking if possible. petosa is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items that were not shipped by us directly. Electronic instruments/products are subject to a 25% restocking fee. The customer is responsible for paying all shipping charges (to and from petosa) on returned items along with any applicable bank fees. If an item was financed through a third party, applicable fees may be deducted from the refund. A Return Authorization and proof of purchase from petosa is required (store receipt, gift receipt, shipping invoice, or account purchase history) for all returns and exchanges.

petosa warranty

petosa piano and chromatic button models include a 10-year limited non-transferable warranty for all new petosa accordions. petosa guarantees that the instrument will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers issues that arise due to manufacturing faults or defects that were present at the time of purchase or develop over the first 10 years of ownership.

petosa diatonic button models include a 2-year limited non-transferable warranty for all new petosa accordions. petosa guarantees that the instrument will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. This warranty covers issues that arise due to manufacturing faults or defects that were present at the time of purchase or develop over the first 2 years of ownership.

During the warranty period, if the instrument experiences any problems that are covered by the warranty, the manufacturer or authorized service center will repair or replace the instrument at no cost to the customer. However, it's essential to note that the warranty does not cover specific terms and conditions including the following:

  1. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or improper handling.
  2. Normal wear and tear of the instrument.
  3. Damage due to accidents or mishandling.
  4. Modifications or alterations made to the instrument without authorization.
  5. Damage caused by environmental factors, such as extreme temperature or humidity.

To take advantage of the warranty, it is essential to keep the original purchase receipt and adhere to any maintenance requirements outlined in the warranty documentation. For any warranty concerns you will need to contact petosa accordions, inc. You may be required to return the accordion at your expense for an inspection. If it has been determined by petosa accordions that a repair is needed, you will be contacted via email if the repair is in fact covered under these warranty terms and conditions. Owner is also responsible for any costs incurred to return the accordion.

Free lifetime standard maintenance service. Included with your purchase of a new petosa accordion, petosa offers a service/warranty program. The original owner is required to have a minimum of one standard maintenance service performed within the first 5 years of purchase to provide the full 10-year warranty term. This service is limited to no more than one service every two years.

Breaking in a new accordion is a common practice in the world of musical instruments. It involves playing the instrument regularly to allow the materials and components to adjust to their new environment and reach their optimal performance level. During the break-in period, the accordion may undergo some changes in sound, responsiveness, and overall playability.

The suggestion provided for a petosa accordion is to play it on a daily basis, which helps the instrument acclimate to various factors such as temperature, humidity, and seasonal changes. This period of daily play can last up to 12 months, as the accordion adapts and settles into its new environment.

If you have any concerns about your new petosa accordion during the break-in period or after receiving it, we encourage you to contact us to ensure that you have a smooth experience with your new instrument.

During the break-in period, it's also essential to keep the accordion well-maintained, which includes regular cleaning, appropriate storage, and following any specific care instructions provided by the manufacturer.
